A Week of Heartbreak, Hope, and Unity in LA
From our window, we watched the Sunset fire erupt in our backyard, quickly spreading across the hills. Helicopters swooped in, dumping water on the flames, while we texted neighbors to check on each other and make plans in case we needed to evacuate. Some of us fled to Lagoon Beach as the fires got dangerously close to our homes. Moments like these remind us just how fragile everything can be.
The wildfires in LA have left us heartbroken for the countless people who have lost their homes and everything they’ve worked for.
A huge thank you goes out to the brave firefighters and first responders who have worked around the clock to protect our homes and keep us safe. We're also incredibly grateful to everyone who checked in on us during this difficult time. Your support has been a comfort, and we truly appreciate it.
While the city will never be the same, we are thankful to say that everyone here at Bend Goods is safe. LA is a complicated place where cultures, opinions, and realities often collide. We may not always agree on everything, but the beauty of this city is how it comes together when it matters most. People are helping one another, offering support, and looking out for each other. Even in the toughest of times, there’s a powerful sense of unity.
If you're looking to help, the American Red Cross is great place to donate & help those effected by the fires: Red Cross
Another great resource to for donating, and helping those effected most by the fires is Dream Center.
We must hold on to hope. Together, we’ll rebuild LA—and come out of this stronger than ever.
