Iron for Mild Environments
Most Bend products are made from iron, hand-shaped and spot-welded into form. After sandblasting to remove imperfections, we apply galvanization or a DuPont fluorocarbon finish for added durability, especially outdoors. While sturdy, finishes may wear faster in harsher climates. For best results, avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and wipe pieces dry when needed. The base material iron is:
• Sandblasted to clean any imperfections on the surface
• Hot-dip galvanized to prevent rust
• Powder coated, for a resistant coating on the product’s surface
Stainless Steel for Harsh Environments
Climates with high levels of humidity and/or constant moisture from rain or sea spray can be toxic to outdoor furniture. For these harsher environments, our products can be constructed using stainless steel. Stainless steel is a combination of iron, chromium, nickel, manganese, and copper that stands up to corrosion and degradation in moisture heavy climates. This upgrade is the best way to keep our Goods looking their best for generations to come.
Finishes
Powder Coating:
We powder coat our products to make them as durable as possible. Our powder coaters use Tiger and DuPont powder coating materials to create the finishes for all Bend pieces. These finishes are VOC free certified and are completely customizable.
Custom Finishes
Custom Colors:
If our standard powder coated finishes don’t pique your interest, you can select any Ral color to create a custom color finish. Ask about custom finishes and let us make your dream a reality!

Care & Maintenance
All furniture needs maintenance, and Bend pieces are no exception. To extend the life of our powder-coated and plated finishes, store furniture in dry, ventilated areas when not in use, protect against chips and scratches, and use pads under decorative objects. Add glides to protect feet and floors, clean off bird droppings promptly, and tighten screws every 4–6 months or as needed.
