You may have noticed that the last couple weeks we have been spending a lot of time and energy promoting other brands and makers alongside our Goods. Over the years, since we launched Bend, we have assembled a pretty inspiring group of maker and artist friends. It's been so fun growing together in the industry, trading secrets and keeping each other entertained at trade shows. When we designed the Pointy House there were obvious gaps that needed to be filled in design categories which we don't make Goods in yet. Who else do you call but your friends!

Now more than ever it's important to stand close to the people you love and believe in. It's important for all of us to support brands and products that we know are coming from an authentic creative place. As we've ranted before, everyone is inspired in one way or another. The important part is what you do with that inspiration. Do you copy it and hope you get away with it? Or let it drive your soul to make something completely new and original? We know it sounds a little intense but this is kind of our thought process while shopping for holiday gifts right now.

If you're like us, you just started holiday shopping. We are major procrastinators, we're aware, but that's another blog for another day. While you're out there getting your last minute gifts this weekend, think about the local makers and artists in your city and support the stores that you know carry them. You never know, you might discover your new up and coming obsession that you didn't even realize was out there.
