FASHION IN AN AGE OF TECHNOLOGYBehind The Bend

One of the things that we look forward to the most during our annual trip to New York, is our stop at The Met to see each year's fashion exhibition. The exhibition benefits the Costume Institute, which is basically the museum's fashion department. The most famous part of this exhibition, would have to be the opening night gala. To say it’s a who’s who of the celebrity world would definitely be an understatement. What’s most interesting though is not which celebrity of the moment attends but what and who they are wearing.

This years theme is “Manus X Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology”, and in our opinion the designers did not disappoint. Our top picks are in the slide show to the left. They include, what appears like, a latex clad Beyonce in Givenchy Haute Couture dress and Lorraine Schwartz Jewelry. Naomi Watts in a metallic Burberry garden, and our pick for this year's King and Queen: Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik. They were both rocking some pretty serious armor. Gigi’s was thanks to Tommy Hilfiger and Zayn’s Versace.

Ok, ok we sound like a bunch of geeks, but this event is pretty awesome fashion wise. The exhibit is always well thoughtout and executed and we can’t wait to see how this years is curated. Make sure and follow us on Snapchat at @BENDGOODS. We’ll definitely be giving you a look at the exhibit through the Bend eyes when we get to New York next week. If you want to see all the fashion from Monday, there is a great Vogue slideshow HERE. Like every year there are some misses, but for the most part we really were wowed by the fashion. This officially just got us so excited for next week!
