The Beverly Hills Hotel: A Pink Palace Icon Redefined
- Location: Beverly Hills, CA (Sunset Boulevard)
- Designer: Champalimaud Design
The Beverly Hills Hotel, affectionately known as the "Pink Palace," recently unveiled a chic redesign of its historic poolside cabanas. Our products were curated to integrate seamlessly into this legendary setting, where the goal was to honor the hotel’s 1940s heritage while introducing a fresh, contemporary energy.
The Pink Bistro Tables were selected to live among the iconic pink-and-white striped loungers and the lush, tropical banana-leaf wallpaper. In a high-traffic, luxury poolside environment, these tables provide a "light and airy" feel that doesn't crowd the private cabana entries. The wireframes allow the California sun to pass right through, maintaining the voluminous, open atmosphere of the pool deck while adding a sophisticated, geometric texture to the classic decor.
The synergy between Bend Goods and The Beverly Hills Hotel is rooted in a shared "California spirit"—a design language that celebrates optimism, color, and outdoor living. The hotel has been a sanctuary for Hollywood royalty since 1912, and our 21st-century "reinvention" of the wire medium fits perfectly into this narrative of timeless glamour.
Bend was an ideal use case for this project because the poolside environment requires furniture that is both "visually radical" and incredibly durable. Our Pink Bistro Tables are engineered with high-performance powder coating that is "built like a buffalo," making them resistant to the heavy daily use and poolside moisture of a five-star resort. The "asymmetric triangular patterns" of the table bases echo the sharp architectural lines of the cabanas, creating a beautiful dialogue between the historic property and modern design.
The redesign was led by the world-renowned Champalimaud Design, a firm famous for breathing new life into the world's most storied luxury properties. By choosing Bend Goods, the design team ensured that the new cabana experience honors the "craftsmanship and design ambition" that the hotel has been known for since the days of Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor.
Our tables have become a permanent fixture of this "modern design icon," proving that "wire, done right," can hold its own alongside the most famous palm fronds in the world. By integrating Bend into this historic landscape, The Beverly Hills Hotel continues a legacy of excellence, showing that the best designs are those that feel both nostalgic and forward-looking.
