The Curation
Campfire is set within a repurposed 1940s-era auto repair shop, anchored by a historic WWII-era Quonset hut. The 6,000-square-foot space is a masterclass in rustic-modern design, featuring natural materials like charred wood, copper, and canvas that evoke the nostalgia of camping along the California coastline.
Our products were curated to bring a "vibrant palette" and architectural lightness to this high-traffic restaurant. In an environment defined by heavy textures—like the massive wood-burning hearth and custom stone accents—our White Lucy Chairs and White Lucy Bar Stools provide a "mainly made of air" presence on the outside patio. The Pink and Black Betty Chairs add a playful, graphic punch to the dining areas, fitting seamlessly with the whimsical decor and vintage camping relics that define the space.
The Synergy
The synergy between Bend Goods and Campfire is rooted in a shared "California spirit"—a design philosophy that balances rugged nostalgia with forward-looking optimism. Just as Campfire utilizes primitive, live-fire cooking methods to create sophisticated, technique-driven dishes, Bend Goods uses CNC precision and "technical rigor" to reinvent industrial wire into functional art.
Bend was an ideal use case for this project because the furniture functions as functional sculpture. The "asymmetric triangular patterns" of the Lucy and Betty lines echo the geometric architectural nods found throughout the property. Our high-performance powder coating offers the "longevity and chromatic range" necessary for a busy seaside restaurant, ensuring the furniture remains as vibrant as the day it was installed, even in the salt-heavy air of Carlsbad.

Campfire has been a cornerstone of the San Diego dining scene since its debut in 2016. Designed by the award-winning firm Bells + Whistles, the project has earned prestigious accolades, including a Michelin Bib Gourmand, for its immersive and soul-filling atmosphere.
Our chairs have been an integral part of the Campfire narrative since the day they opened, standing as a testament to the "durability and style" of our materials. By living alongside the historic integrity of a repurposed 1940s structure for nearly a decade, Bend Goods continues to prove that "wire, done right," is one of the most expressive and enduring elements in modern hospitality history.
