Prototype In The Making - The Tube Chair at BDNY
We are in the middle of BDNY.
It has been an exciting show with so many great people stopping by our booth. The show started yesterday at Javits center and ends, Monday the14th at 5pm. If you are in the area, stop by booth #2826. BDNY, is short for the Boutique Design New York, and is a high-energy 2 day event for the trade in the hospitality industry.
Debuting of Our New Prototype Chair
Our booth displays a color combination that people are finding to be a fresh take in décor. For this event we did a custom color of Red-Orange and Beige tones. Visitors are loving the Get-Together table in Orange that shows off the innovative interlocking detail. The new padding on the Loop has also been a great hit. But what we are most excited about showing is the debut of our new prototype chair. It’s great to get feedback on the chair to help us hone in on the design. The overall opinion is that it is a fabulous chair and sure to be a winner. We know what adjustments to make and will go into production early 2023. Stay Tuned!
“Tube chair”
The working name for the prototype is called the “Tube chair”. It is made of 2” thick tubing. A complete departure from airy wire chairs Bend Goods is known for. The framework of the chair is not supported by a typical four leg arrangement where the back and seat are connected. Instead the back comes down to the floor and turns itself into a seat creating a different kind of cantilever chair. The seat looks like it is suspended in air, defying gravity.
