Design is the art of storytelling, and as a furniture designer, I find joy in transforming abstract ideas into tangible reality. Furniture serves as a medium to convey narratives and evoke emotions within a space, possessing the remarkable ability to create unique experiences and establish a specific ambiance. It can be perceived as comfortable, inviting, and cozy, instantly making people feel at ease. On the other hand, sleek and modern designs communicate sophistication, elegance, and cutting-edge aesthetics, creating an atmosphere of contemporary style. Our New Body of Work:
We set out on a path of bold exploration, aiming to divert from our traditional thin wires while maintaining a fresh and contemporary aesthetic. Our journey led us to immerse ourselves in the world of materials, testing upholstery, metal, wood, and constantly learning along the way. Elements of abstraction, geometric forms, and structural influences have become the bedrock of our creative process. We push the limits and collaborate closely with our partners to see what can truly be achieved.
Inspiration:
At the heart of our designs lies inspiration drawn from the exquisite beauty of nature. Flowing curves, organic forms, and captivating textures weave together to create our newest collection. Like the art of balancing rocks, our pieces exhibit intriguing and harmonious compositions, capturing a sense of grace and equilibrium. Infused with our love for kinetic art and influenced by the Memphis movement, our contemporary and sculptural creations take center stage in our newest body of work. This collection truly embodies our vision.
The Design Process:
From 3D sketches to prototypes and continuous refinement, our design process is both intricate and rewarding. If you were to peek at my computer desktop, you would be greeted with a chaotic symphony of thousands of sketches and concepts. It is a testament to the constant flow of ideas within our team. We fully embrace the digital age, leveraging its power to collaborate and exchange files seamlessly.
Understanding materials, machines, packaging, and assembly is essential in the early stages of our design process. We leverage our expertise in 3D modeling and digital tools to transform our concepts into tangible prototypes. By testing designs in different materials such as wood, wire, or fabric, we ensure that each piece meets our high standards of craftsmanship and comfort. It is a meticulous process that involves multiple rounds of models, mockups, and prototypes, allowing the final details to slowly emerge. But it's not just about aesthetics. We care deeply about the materials we use and the impact they have on the environment. Product longevity is a core value for us.
Once a prototype is approved, we turn our attention to color selection, carefully considering how each piece will complement different spaces. Seeking feedback from our trusted realtors, we strive to ensure our designs seamlessly integrate into various environments. And when everything aligns perfectly, we confidently move forward into production.
